New Work Completed in Bloomington
We here at FTGU have just completed a one-of-a-kind, single-drop waterfall for the Dairy Queen in Bloomington at the Cub Food Plaza off of Veterans Parkway.  This is a photo of me, Ryan McSherry, standing by one of our most challenging projects yet.  This pondless waterfall has 210,000gph pumps, feeding 2 waterfall boxes that drops a total of 6'.  The 2 largest boulders you see there, weigh in at 13 tons, and we used 37 tons of Granite boulders, in all!  We overcame quite a few setbacks on this project, but it was all worth it in the end. So, next time you’re in the Bloomington area, stop by for an ice cream.  While you're there, enjoy the running water of all the features we installed...and of course the main attraction!

Pruning Tips

With Early Spring behind us, now is the time to prune those early shrubs and trees before they start setting flower buds for next year. Pruning tips include:

- Use sharp pruning tools, this makes a clean cut which will heal properly

- Prune crossing and dead branches first then prune for shape or size reduction

- Make sure you do not leave excessive branch stubs, you want to prune just next to the “branch collar”. And do not prune into the main branch or stem.

- Do not apply any “wound “ paint…not needed EVER.

- Questions ??? Call us at 233-1310

Fertilize your trees, shrubs and perennials----- established plants should be fertilized once or twice during the growing season, usually spring and fall. New plants should be fertilized monthly the first season. For help, call us.

If you have not yet applied a pre-emerge weed control product to your landscape beds (Preen), get it applied now and again every 60 days through the season and as always, follow the labeled directions for proper amounts. Relax and enjoy natures show, it’s FREE every year.

Sustainable Practices

We’re a company that is all about beautifying the natural environment. That said, it would be pretty easy for us to say we’re doing our part to be “green” because we put so many trees, shrubs, plants, and flowers in the earth every year; however, we don’t stop there.
